GWO Safety & Training Awards - Terms and Conditions

1. Eligibility

1.a Instructor of the Year: Only instructors who meet all of the following criteria are eligible:

• The GWO Safety & Training Awards (hereinafter referred to as "the Awards") are open to organizations and individuals engaged in the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) safety and training initiatives.

• Only Instructors registered in WINDA before June 2025 may participate in the category “Instructor of the Year” • Only Instructors Employed by a GWO Certified Training Provider may be considered for this award

• Winners of previous editions of the “Instructor of the Year” award will not be considered for this award

• All material submitted during nomination process must follow the latest version of GWO’s Requirements for Training and Certification

1.b Training Team of the Year: Only Training Providers who meet the following criteria are eligible.

• You must be a currently a GWO Certified Training Provider • All GWO Certified Training Providers who have been registered in WINDA prior to June 2025

• All nomination materials submitted must comply with the latest GWO Requirements for Training and GWO Requirements for Certification (see 1.a)

2. Who can make a nomination

Only course participants who have received their Training Records between 1 June, 2025 & 30 May 2026 may nominate instructors.

3. Nomination Process

The nomination period for the awards 2026 will be open from 25 February to 30 May 2026 The process for determining the winners is outlined below:

a. Upon completion of a course at a training centre, Course Participants have the opportunity to nominate their instructors by - Course Participants can nominate their instructor or a training team completing the online nomination form: https://wkf.ms/4tyIIvX   (Only Course Participants who completed training or received their Training Records between 1 June 2025 and 30 May 2026 may nominate an instructor.)

b. GWO will curate a list featuring the top-nominated instructors, considering the quantity of nominations of recommendations.

c. Between June 1st and 7th, the training providers will receive an email requesting completion of aditional questions to officially accept the nomination within a two-week period. Training Providers who do not complete the questions during the selected period will be disqualified for the “Instructor of the Year” Award.

d. To aid them in their evaluation the external judging panel will receive information provided by the training provider. e. Regional winners will be selected by the judging panel based on their assessments.

f. Shortlisted candidates will be notified during August. g. Winners will be announced during the Safety & Training Awards Ceremony on 29 September 2026

4. Judging Process

A panel of independent judges selected by Global Wind Organisation will evaluate the nominations based on the specified criteria for each category. The judging process is confidential.

5. Winners Notification

a. Finalist will be announced in August 2026

b. Winners will be announced at the Safety & Training Awards on 29 September 2026.

c. Global Wind Organisation reserves the right to publicly announce and promote the winners through various channels, including but not limited to press releases, social media, and the official Awards website.

6. Awards Presentation

a. The winners will be invited to receive their awards at a ceremony organized by Global Wind Organisation

b. The organiser reserves the right to designate an appropriate representative for winners who are unable to attend the ceremony to accept the award on their behalf.

7. Publicity

By participating in the Awards, nominees grant Global Wind Organisation the right to use their names, images, and information about their achievements for promotional and marketing purposes related to the Awards.

8. Disqualification

a. Global Wind Organisation reserves the right to disqualify any nominee who violates these terms and conditions or engages in any conduct that is deemed inappropriate.

b. Nominations from course participants prior to October 2025 will not be counted. Repeated nominations from WINDA ID’s from dates outside the designated period will result in disqualification

c. All submitted material must comply with the latest version of GWO Requirements and Standards. In case of identified discrepancies GWO will engage in a dialogue about the discrepancy/non-compliance. GWO reserves the right not to publish materials provided.

9. Changes to Terms and Conditions

Global Wind Organisation reserves the right to modify or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

10. Privacy Participants agree to the collection and use of their personal information for the purpose of managing the evaluation process. The legal basis of processing is GWO’s legitimate interests in conducting the nomination and evaluation process, cf. GDPR, article 6(1)(f).

11. Data Security

a. Global Wind Organisation will implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of personal data collected during the nomination and evaluation.

b. All personal data will be stored securely and access will be restricted to authorized personnel only.

12. Data Retention

a. Personal data collected during the nomination and evaluationwill be retained for 1 year after completion of the competition. b. Global Wind Organisation will securely dispose of or anonymize personal data when it is no longer needed for the specified purposes.

13. Data Subject Rights

a. Participants have the right to request access to, rectification, erasure, or portability of their personal data collected during the online competition.

b. Global Wind Organisation will promptly address such requests in accordance with GDPR regulations.

14. Third-Party Processing

Global Wind Organisation may use third-party service providers to facilitate the online competition. These providers will be carefully selected, and data processing agreements will be in place to ensure GDPR compliance.

15. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Denmark, and any disputes arising from or related to the Awards shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Denmark

By participating in the GWO Safety & Training Awards, nominees agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
