GWO Safety & Training Awards - Terms and Conditions

Eligibility

1.1 The GWO Safety & Training Awards (hereinafter referred to as "the Awards") are open to organizations and individuals engaged in the Global Wind Organisation (GWO) safety and training initiatives.

1.2 Only Training Providers certified before December 2024 may participate in the category “Training Team of the Year” Award Categories & Nomination Process

2.1 The Awards include various categories recognizing excellence in GWO safety and training practices including: “Training Team of the Year”, “Young Achiever of the Year” and “Instructor of the Year”

Nomination Process for Training Team of the Year and Young Achiever:

3.1 Nominations can be submitted through the official Awards website during the nomination period by completing the mandatory entries in the corresponding category form.

3.2 All nominations must include accurate and complete information about the nominee and their achievements. Incomplete entries will not be considered.

3.3 Training Providers who have not paid their Annual Fee or have open investigations may be disqualified from the competition.

Nomination Process for Instructor of the Year Award Eligibility - Only Instructors Employed by a GWO Certified TP may be considered for this award - Winners of previous editions of the Instructor of the Year award may not be considered The Instructor of the Year Award in 2025 aims to recognize exceptional instructors.

The process for determining the winners is outlined below:

3.4.a. Upon completion of a course at a training centre, Course Participants have the opportunity to nominate their instructors by completing the following form: https://wkf.ms/4hmQ26Z

3.4.b. GWO will curate a list featuring the top-nominated instructors, considering both the quantity of nominations and the quality of recommendations.

3.4.c. Between May 1st and 7th, the training providers will receive an email requesting completion of five questions to officially accept the nomination within a two-week period. Training Providers who do not complete the questions will be disqualified for the “Instructor of the Year” Award.

3.4.d. To aid them in their evaluation the external judging panel will receive information provided by the training provider, including noteworthy comments from participants.

3.5.e. Regional winners will be selected by the judging panel based on their assessments.

3.6.f. Shortlisted candidates will be notified during August.

3.6.g. Winners will be announced during the Safety & Training Awards Ceremony on October 8th 2025

Judging Process

4.1 A panel of independent judges selected by Global Wind Organisation will evaluate the nominations based on the specified criteria for each category.

4.2 The judging process is confidential, and the decisions of the judges are final.

Winners Notification

5.1 Winners will be announced at the Safety & Training Awards on October 8 2025.

5.2 Global Wind Organisation reserves the right to publicly announce and promote the winners through various channels, including but not limited to press releases, social media, and the official Awards website.

Awards Presentation

6.1 The winners will be invited to receive their awards at a ceremony organized by Global Wind Organisation

6.2 The organiser reserves the right to designate an appropriate representative for winners who are unable to attend the ceremony to accept the award on their behalf.

Publicity

7.1 By participating in the Awards, nominees grant Global Wind Organisation the right to use their names, images, and information about their achievements for promotional and marketing purposes related to the Awards.

Disqualification

8 Global Wind Organisation reserves the right to disqualify any nominee who violates these terms and conditions or engages in any conduct that is deemed inappropriate.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

9 Global Wind Organisation reserves the right to modify or amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

Privacy

Participants in the online competition agree to the collection and use of their personal information for the purpose of administering the competition.

Data Collection and Consent

10.1 Global Wind Organisation will clearly communicate the purposes for collecting personal data during the online competition and seek explicit consent from participants before collecting any information.

10.2 Participants have the right to withdraw their consent at any time, Global Wind Organisation will promptly cease the processing of their personal data upon withdrawal.

Data Security

11.1 Global Wind Organisation will implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of personal data collected during the online competition. 11.2 All personal data will be stored securely and access will be restricted to authorized personnel only.

Data Retention

12.1 Personal data collected during the online competition will be retained only for the duration necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, as specified in Global Wind Organisation 's privacy policy.

12.2 Global Wind Organisation will securely dispose of or anonymize personal data when it is no longer needed for the specified purposes.

Data Subject Rights

13.1 Participants have the right to request access to, rectification, erasure, or portability of their personal data collected during the online competition. 13.2 Global Wind Organisation will promptly address such requests in accordance with GDPR regulations.

Third-Party Processing

14 Global Wind Organisation may use third-party service providers to facilitate the online competition. These providers will be carefully selected, and data processing agreements will be in place to ensure GDPR compliance. See full policy: https://www.globalwindsafety.org/auditcompliance/gdpr

Governing Law

15.1 These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Denmark, and any disputes arising from or related to the Awards shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Denmark By participating in the GWO Safety & Training Awards, nominees agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
